How the Big Ten will be won

Four teams are in the running for the conference championship; two will meet in just over a week in Indy. How each team can get there:

Michigan State (10-1, 6-1) wins the Big Ten East if it beats Penn State in East Lansing, Mich., on Saturday (2:30 p.m., ESPN).

Michigan (9-2, 6-1) wins the East if it first beats Ohio State on Saturday in Ann Arbor, Mich. (11 a.m., Ch. 5) and then watches Penn State upset Michigan State.

Ohio State (10-1, 6-1) wins the East if the Buckeyes win at Michigan and Penn State wins at Michigan State.

• With both Michigan and Ohio State, Michigan State has the primary tiebreaker advantage because the Spartans beat both teams this season.

• And the East division champ gets … Iowa, which has already clinched the West. The Hawkeyes play at Nebraska on Friday (2:30 p.m., Ch. 5). A victory would put Iowa, No. 4 in the latest College Football Playoff poll, in firm position to be playing for a playoff spot in the Big Ten title game on Dec. 5 in Indianapolis (7:17 p.m., Ch. 9).
