I've arrived at Wayzata, where the Trojans will face Hopkins tonight in a matchup of unbeaten Classic Lake Conference football teams.

The rain has stopped, the temp is 47 degrees and it's going to be a cold, wet night.

Everybody knows about the Classic Lake situation, with only five teams in the league; these two plus Edina, Minnetonka and Armstrong. In 2010-11, Armstrong will join the Northwest Suburban and Eden Prairie will take its spot in the Classic Lake. Scheduling is a well-noted nightmare with only five teams in a league, and I have learned that Wayzata and Eden Prairie will face off twice in the 2010 regular season.

The Classic Lake is trying to avoid playing a full double round-robin conference schedule. Even if they do, every team will still have one opening on its schedule. Sounds like they are trying to convince teams from as far away as Florida to trek to Minnesota.
