Honor thy father Kye Petersen, a 15-year-old extreme skier, takes on France's Aiguille du Midi, the mountain that claimed his father's life nine years earlier, in "The Edge of Never" (7 p.m. Friday, Showtime), a documentary that reminds us that sports is not always about winning or losing.

On the bored walk Those ignorant of the pop-culture phenomenon "Jersey Shore" can catch up with an entire first-season marathon (8 a.m. Sunday, MTV). The show, No. 1 among cable viewers 12-34 this past month, is also responsible for ticking off folks who like to think of New Jersey as the land of Sinatra and Springsteen, not the breeding ground of idiots named Pauly D and Snooki.

Candy-O While Diane Sawyer and Katie Couric have risen to the top on the evening shift, women have yet to get a fair shake on the Sunday morning talk-show circuit. That changes this weekend as no-nonsense political correspondent Candy Crowley takes over "State of the Union" (8 a.m. Sunday, CNN). Former anchor John King moves to weekday evenings.

Ship shape Vikings fans still smarting over the fact that we're on the Super Bowl sidelines may be looking for other options than sitting through the Big Game. What about a Big Movie, like 1997's "Titanic" (6 and 10 p.m. Sunday, TBS), James Cameron's epic that may only be surpassed in popularity by ... James Cameron's "Avatar." Leonardo DiCaprio and company should keep your mind off the Purple, although the ending might remind you of the final minutes of regulation play against the Saints.
