Home opener a chance for Twins to end streak

The 0-6 Twins will face the White Sox today a Target Field. Kyle Gibson will be on the mound

Twins manager Paul Molitor said on Sunday that the plan is for the Twins to take batting practice on the field before Monday's home opener against the White Sox.

Perhaps the chilly, breezy weather will help wake up their offense.

Gametime temperatures are expected to be 40 degrees with a northwest wind at about 19 miles oper hour.

A lot of things have gone wrong for the club after a week's worth of games - the 0-6 record reflects that - but few thought offense would be a problem. The best way for the Twins to get things going is to string more hits together - and start hitting the home runs people thought they would hit.

But, hey, it's the home opener. There will be a festive atmosphere down at Target Field this afternoon. And maybe that will be enough for the club to turn things around.
