'ELF THE BROADWAY MUSICAL'

Dec. 5-30: This splashy Broadway musical is adapted from the fanciful 2003 Will Ferrell movie about an orphan who slips into Santa's bag and is taken to the North Pole. There, he is the odd elf out, until he discovers the truth about himself. The Broadway version did well at the box office, despite being buffeted by bad reviews when it opened in 2010. This season, it has been revived with a non-union cast for a multi-city tour. The Ordway stop will feature walk-ons by local child actors. (7:30 p.m. Tue.-Fri., 2 & 7:30 p.m. Sat. & Sun.; also 2 p.m. Dec. 6 and 27. No show Dec. 25. $27-$110. Ends Dec. 30. Ordway Center, 5th and Washington Sts., St. Paul. 651-224-4222 or www.ordway.org.)
