Always looking for somewhere new and fun to play here -- and preferably on a weekend the Twins are in town at their new ballpark -- the Hold Steady just announced two (hometown?) shows July 3-4, when the Twinkies are taking on the hot Tampa Bay Rays. The first of those shows (the 3rd) will be at the Cabooze's great outdoor stage, where the Finnegan's ShamRocks, last year's Deep Blues Fest and many other great shows have been staged of late. A night later, on the Fourth, the band will return to First Avenue. Should be fireworks all around. First Avenue is the promoter behind both shows, so check its site for info on tickets, which will go on sale Friday at 11 a.m.
