Mayor Betsy Hodges will deliver her second state of the city address on April 2, her office announced Tuesday.

Hodges used her first state of the city address in 2014 to highlight campaign priorities of growing the city, nixing disparities and efficiently running City Hall.

The speech is one of the best opportunities for the mayor to lay out annual priorities and steer city policy. Former Mayor R.T. Rybak emphasized job growth, north Minneapolis and long-term planning in various state of the city speeches.

The 2015 speech will be held at the American Swedish Institute from noon to 1 p.m.
