A motorist struck and injured a worker in a construction zone along Interstate 694 in New Brighton at night this week, then fled the scene and has yet to be caught.
The incident occurred about 9:50 p.m. Thursday along eastbound I-694 west of the ramp to Long Lake Road, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT).
The vehicle is described as a black Honda sedan, with extensive damage to the front.
The worker from Michigan-based Concrete and Breaking Co., Lewis Patch, 42, of Lakeview, Mich., was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center and released Thursday, said Kent Barnard of MnDOT.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the State Patrol at 651-582-1511.
