Now that center John Sullivan has returned from a calf injury, it will be interesting to see if right guard Anthony Herrera gets some work at center in Saturday's preseason game against Seattle.
Backup Jon Cooper started while Sullivan was sidelined, but Herrera played a few series at that spot against the 49ers on Sunday. Herrera said this week that he hopes to get more work at center.
Herrera’s only experience at center came in 2005 when he played one preseason game at that position. He said he worked on snapping regularly in college at Tennessee so that was not a difficult adjustment. Coach Brad Childress said he thought Herrera looked comfortable in that role last week.
