Heidi Collins/KMSP
Fox 9 is getting a national star. The station announced Monday that Heidi Collins, an anchor and correspondent for CNN for eight years, will join the local affiliate in mid-October, co-anchoring the 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. news with Jeff Passolt. She replaces Robyne Robinson who left the station at the end of May.
Collins grew up in the Twin Cities and graduated from Mounds View High School. She left CNN this past January.
"I'm thrilled to be joining FOX 9," Collins said in a press release. "I can't believe I'm getting the chance to go back home to Minnesota and continue doing what I love. I look forward to this next chapter in my career."
