A driver crossed the centerline of a county road and killed a motorist heading the other way in a collision on a Wright County road, authorities said Wednesday.

The crash occurred about 9:25 p.m. Tuesday in Buffalo Township on County Road 35 near Eaken Avenue NE., according to the Sheriff's Office.

Gary Wagner, 60, of Buffalo, Minn., was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, 26-year-old Sarah Robole, of River Falls, Wis., was taken by emergency responders by air ambulance to HCMC. Robole's condition was not immediately known.

Robole was heading east on County Road 35 and strayed over the centerline and struck Wagner's westbound minivan, the Sheriff's Office said, based on initial statements from witnesses and evidence gathered at the scene.

The Sheriff's Office has yet to say why Robole left her lane.
