Haynesworth not headed to Vikings

The speculation of Albert Haynesworth being traded to the Vikings has gained steam today but it appears that isn't going to be happening.

We posted an item this afternoon about a report from ESPN's John Clayton that the Vikings had contacted the Redskins about disgruntled defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth. Well, the stakes got raised a bit when Pro Football talk reported the Vikings were in"hot pursuit" of Haynesworth.

However, NFL sources continue to tell the Star Tribune that Haynesworth is not going to become a Viking. There is one interesting fact about Haynesworth's contract that would make him a potentially good pickup for someone, perhaps the Titans or Lions.

Washington has paid the defensive tackle $32 million, including a $21 million bonus earlier this month. That means Haynesworth is set to earn about $16 million over the next three years. That's a pretty good deal if Haynesworth is happy and, thus, productive.
