Afternoon from South Minneapolis, where I'm actually on the set of a pilot being shot co-starring Wild fan and Super Troopers actor Erik Stolhanske. If you want to read about the project, check out this post. There are currently six Vikings here shooting a scene as I punch my iPhone.
Some Wild news: Center Erik Haula, who left the day after the playoffs to represent Finland in the world championships, broke his jaw in the gold-medal game against Russia when he was cross-checked in the face by superstar Evgeni Malkin. No penalty was called. Haula sustained a nondisplaced fracture that will not require surgery. The injury will take three to four weeks to heal, the Wild says.
The Finns ended up losing to the Russians to earn silver.
I talked to Haula's agent, Jay Grossman, earlier today and he says the good news is Haula's injury could have been worse. He is currently flying back to Minnesota.
In other news, GM Chuck Fletcher, who is in Toronto at the draft combine, and coach Mike Yeo, who was scheduled to return today from a fishing trip, were expected to have a phone conversation to continue negotiations toward a new contract. Yeo's contract is set to expire June 30.
