Hasselbeck to sub for Locker at quarterback against Vikings

October 4, 2012 at 1:07AM

NASHVILLE - Veteran Matt Hasselbeck will be the starting quarterback in place of the injured Jake Locker on Sunday when the Titans visit the Vikings, Tennessee coach Mike Munchak said Wednesday.

Munchak said Locker will not dress while his left shoulder continues to heal. Locker dislocated his nonthrowing shoulder for the second time in four games when sacked in last week's 38-14 loss at Houston.

Locker's shoulder has not improved over the past day and remains just as sore, Munchak said. The Titans (1-3) play host to Pittsburgh on Oct. 11, so they face a quick turnaround.

"It's just as fast as my body can respond to it," Locker said. "I'll do my best to get back there as soon as I can and as coach Munch [said], we'll just take it week to week."
