Percy Harvin was not on the field for the start of practice Tuesday. There was some speculation that Harvin might return today after he collapsed and was hospitalized last week after suffering another migraine episode.

We're not sure if Harvin is even at Winter Park today but we'll hopefully get an update after practice. We've reached a point in training camp where practices are closed to the media after stretching and individual drills.

Linebacker Chad Greenway and defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy also were not present during the early portion of practice. Again, we'll hopefully get an update on their status after practice.

Wide receiver Javon Walker is taking part in his first practice after signing this morning.

Center John Sullivan returned to practice after missing most of training camp because of a calf injury.

Finally, the Vikings have taken advantage of a revenue source that the NFL approved last season. On Tuesday, the team began wearing a patch promoting Verizon on the shoulder of its practice jerseys.

The deal between the Vikings and Verizon -- the team's "official wireless partner" -- is a multi-tiered partnership that already existed and includes naming rights to training camp in Mankato. Verizon also took over the NFL mobile deal from Sprint this year. Steve LaCroix, the Vikings' chief marketing officer, declined to reveal the financial terms of the deal with Verizon but said the agreement to wear the advertising patches will run into next season. While it would have seemed logical to have the ads on the jerseys in Mankato, when fans were allowed to watch practice, LaCroix said that didn't happen because the Vikings were still going through patch approval and production process via the league.
