Percy Harvin's 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the Vikings' 24-21 victory over Dallas last Sunday helped to earn him NFC special teams player of the week honors.
The Vikings trailed 14-7 when Harvin took the opening kickoff back to tie the score. It was Harvin's third kickoff return for a touchdown, setting a franchise record. The second-year player is averaging 27.2 yards per return this season and has 20 receptions for 224 yards with three touchdowns.
Harvin has now earned two player of the week awards from the NFL -- the first came in Week 3 of 2009 -- and he is the first return specialist in Vikings history to be named special teams player of the week twice.
