Happy hour deal: Zen Box Izakaya

Sushi? What sushi? This new Japanese pub on Washington Avenue forgoes much of the raw stuff for comfort food: noodles, dumplings and other hearty treats.

Drink specials (including Fulton and Summit beers), plus a wide array of dishes from something Zen Box calls "the other menu." The $4-$8 happy hour menu includes chicken kara-age, age gyoza (potstickers), miso spare ribs, mini donburi (rice bowls) and much more.

    • 9 p.m.-close Mon.-Wed.
      • 10 p.m.-close Thu.-Sat.
