Hall of Fame honor for Lakeville North coach

Assistant girls' basketball coach Jim Schreffler will be inducted into Iowa Hall of Fame.

Lakeville North assistant girls' basketball coach Jim Schreffler has been named a 2010 inductee into the Iowa Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame.

Schreffler has coached for more than 40 years at the high school and college level in Iowa, Missouri and Minnesota. He was named the Iowa Class 3A coach of the year in 1995 and in 2007 he was named the Minnesota Class 4A assistant coach of the year.

He started the girls' basketball program at Decorah High School in Iowa in 1976 and coached there until 1999. His career also includes stints as an assistant coach at Luther College in Decorah and as the head coach in Farmington. His career record as a head coach is 375-252.
