Greetings.

Did you like that half of football?

First of all, kudos to the defense, which managed to keep the game close despite having to cover up for three turnovers and a shanked punt. With better quarterback play Iowa would be comfortably out front by now.

Offense? Same old same old. Through 10 quarters against the Big Ten's top three defensive teams -- Penn State, Ohio State and Iowa -- the Gophers have managed seven points at the end of the Ohio State game against the Buckeyes defensive backups.

Once again, the reasons are several. Weber has actually had some time, but he's been inaccurate. The receivers haven't helped him much, though. On that deep throw down the sidelines to Da'Jon McKnight, I feel McKnight should have laid out to make a play on what I thought was a catchable ball. McKnight had a drop later in the half.

MarQueis Gray? He now has two fumbles and an interception in relatively limited playing time this season.

Right now I don't think the Gophers cam get much further behind and come back. Minnesota needs to gain some momentum on the first drive of the second half.
