H&M in Uptown

No longer do Minneapolitans have to go to the 'burbs to get their fast-fashion fix. Swedish chain H&M opens a two-level store at Calhoun Square -- its fifth location in Minnesota -- on Friday at noon. At 23,000 square feet, it's about the same size as the Mall of America location, making it the center's biggest retail attraction. The new H&M will offer its full assortment of affordable, high-fashion clothes and accessories for women, men and kids, including maternity, lingerie and sports apparel. (3001 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls. 855-466-7467 or www.hm.com.)

World (Craft) Fair

Screen-printing company Burlesque of North America is behind the annual World (Craft) Fair. Among the gift-ready offerings are a pack of rare Arcade Fire posters for $35 and a $20 "Dre Mania" pack, (Burlesque-designed Dre Day merchandise including stickers, a koozie, a magnetic poetry set and an air freshener), plus scratch-and-dent posters, discounted T-shirts and one-of-a-kind test prints. Other vendors include poster artist Landland, Three Fine Pieces jewelry and Modern Radio Records. (10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sat. CO Exhibitions, 1101 Stinson Blvd. NE., Mpls. www.burlesquedesign . com.)
