Republicans always keep a sharp eye on Minnesota's First Congressional District, where Democrat Tim Walz is in his second term. But the last Republican to hold the job, Gil Gutknecht, says he really doesn't miss Washington. "I'm happy to be on the outside," Gutknecht told Hot Dish on Wednesday.
These days the former six-term congressman is working with an outfit called HealthCare IP Partners in Rochester, work that he calls "fun and interesting."
But as for a return to politics, Gutknecht, like most veteran pols, never says never. "The virus never completely leaves your body," he said.
