Tracey Maloney, Bill McCallum, Jennifer Blagen and Chris Carlson.

The Guthrie has announced the cast for "God of Carnage," which opens at the end of the month. Jennifer Blagen, Chris Carlson, Tracey Maloney and Bill McCallum will tear into play with director John Miller-Stephany. Written by Yasmina Reza ("Art"), "God of Carnage won the 2010 Tony for best play.

Maloney and McCallum are paired up, and Carlson and Blagen play the other couple in a scenario that starts as a civil discussion about their boys tussling on the playground. It turns into a raging donnybrook.

A film adaptation is in the works, directed by Roman Polanski and featruing John C. Reilly and Kate Winslet.

Maloney was recently in "Man of La Mancha" for Ten Thousand Things (and had a nice little role in the film "Cedar Rapids" as a flight attendant). She and McCallum were both in "Glass Menagerie" at the Guthrie a few years ago. Blagen hasn't been on the local stage for a while (tending to family) and Carlson was in "Circle Mirror Transformation" up in the Studio last year.

"Carnage" previews May 28 and opens June 3. Ticket information is at guthrietheater.org
