"Grease," which has become a byword for a type of 1950s high school cool, is perhaps the most storied in the 49-year history of Chanhassen Dinner Theatres. For starters, the company's 2006 production is its all-time bestseller. And its breakout star, Laura Osnes, has gone on to Broadway fame. Caroline Innerbichler, who cut her teeth at Children's Theatre and the Guthrie, is headlining as Sandy opposite Aleks Knezevich as Danny. The power-packed cast includes Ben Bakken, Ruthanne Heyward, Shinah Brashears, Jessica Fredrickson, Keith Rice, Tony Vierling, Maureen Sherman-Mendez and Kasano Mwanza In addition to songs such as "Summer Nights," this production will have added numbers from the film such as "Grease (Is the Word)," "Hopelessly Devoted to You" and "You're the One That I Want." Theater co-owner Michael Brindisi, who was a part of the national tour of "Grease" in the late 1970s, mounts this revival. "It's a snapshot of some very special young people at a crossroads," he said.
