Gray at QB: a long time coming

MarQueis Gray last played a full season at quarterback as a junior at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. Here's a look at his long path to his first college start at quarterback Saturday against USC:

2007: Broke arm in second game of senior high school season.

2008: Sat out when NCAA ruled he must retake college entrance exam.

2009: Backup QB, moved to wide receiver for Insight Bowl.

2010: Caught 42 passes (587 yards, five TDs) as WR. QB'd sparingly.

GOPHERS CAREER TOTALS

Passing: 8-for-23 (34.8 percent) for 86 yards, one TD, one INT

Rushing: 375 yards on 70 attempts (5.4 avg.), one TD

Receiving: 48 catches for 645 yards, six TDs
