Children under 18 can receive free hot meals this summer as a result of a federal grant awarded to the Hopkins School District.

The district's nutrition department is serving weekday meals at three sites. Two food trucks also serve lunch. Each meal contains an entree, fruit, vegetable and milk.

Breakfast will be served from 8 to 9 a.m. at Eisenhower Elementary's cafeteria, 1001 Hwy 7. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meals will be served until Aug. 2.

Breakfast also will be served from 8 to 9 a.m. at Alice Smith Elementary's cafeteria, 801 Minnetonka Mills Road. Lunch will be offered there from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meals will be served until Aug. 16.

Lunch will be served at the Curren Building, 1600 Main St., from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. until July 19.

In addition, the 43 Hoops food truck parked at 1002 NE. 2nd St. will offer lunch from noon to 1 p.m. until Aug. 16. And the Valley Park food truck will serve lunch from 11 to 11:45 until Aug. 16. It's parked at 801 7th Av. S.
