Governor helps open 2013 pheasant season
Madelia calls itself the Pheasant Capital of Minnesota, and it will be on Saturday when it is the host of the 2013 Governor's Pheasant Hunting Opener. Public events include a banquet Friday night and a pancake breakfast Saturday morning. For details, see www.mnpheasant.com. Gov. Mark Dayton launched the first Governor's Pheasant Opener two years ago at Montevideo. He'll be at many of the events Friday and Saturday in Madelia.
