The City of Minneapolis will host an open house, seeking ideas on the revitalization of Peavey Plaza.

The event will be from 6-7 p.m. next Tuesday at Orchestra Hall, 1111 Nicollet Mall, Mpls. Last November, the city chose landscape architects oslund.and.associates to spearhead the reshaping of the plaza, which sits on the same block as Orchestra Hall. Once public comments are gathered, Oslund will develop concepts to be showcased this spring. A final design will be presented by summer with groundbreaking in spring, 2012. That's the same timeline for construction as the $45 million renovation of Orchestra Hall.

Oslund designed Gold Medal Park and the Target Field Plaza in Minneapolis, two high-profile projects from the past several years. The Peavey project has a price tag between $5-6 million.

In addition to next Tuesday's open house, the public can offer opinions online, beginning this Friday by emailing peaveyplaza@oaala.com. More information is at the Oslund home page, oaala.com.
