Hannah Brandt had a goal and two assists and Amanda Leveille earned her fifth shutout of the season in the Gophers women’s hockey team’s 6-0 nonconference victory over Princeton at Ridder Arena on Saturday.
Leveille, a sophomore from Kingston, Ontario, had 11 saves as the No. 1-ranked Gophers improved to 16-1 on the season.
The Gophers led 1-0 after one period before breaking the game open with three goals in the second. Minnesota outshot the Tigers 15-2 in the second period and 48-11 for the game.
Six different players scored goals for the Gophers.
Kelly Terry scored her team-leading 11th goal of the season to give the Gophers a 4-0 lead over the Tigers (5-5-2) midway through the second period.
Brandt, whose eighth goal of the season gave the Gophers a 5-0 lead in the third period, leads the Gophers with 27 points.
This was the first meeting between the teams since 2006.
