The Gophers baseball team announced seven signings Wednesday, five to national letters of intent: outfielder Alex Boxwell of Coon Rapids, catcher Toby Hanson of Delano, infielder Micah Coffey of Batavia, Ill., pitcher Lucas Gilbreath of Westminster, Colo., and pitcher Fred Manke of Lodi, Wis.

Two signed acceptance of admission letters: pitcher Jeff Fasching of St. Cloud and infielder Luke Pettersen of Minnetonka.

"There are a lot of two- and three-sport athletes in this group and athleticism rings pretty strongly throughout this recruiting class," Minnesota coach John Anderson said. "This group is strong in lefthanded pitching and in lefthanded hitting."
