D'Vion Harris, a defensive end from Lutheran North High School in St. Louis, announced via Twitter on Saturday that he has committed to the Gophers football program.

Harris, 6-3 and 225 pounds, is a three-star recruit as rated by 247Sports.com in its composite rankings. He had scholarship offers from nine other FBS programs, including Michigan, Illinois, Arizona, Florida and Louisville.

Harris' addition gives the Gophers and coach P.J. Fleck six verbal commitments for the Class or 2019.

One of the Gophers' top targets in the Class of 2019, Edina four-star offensive tackle Quinn Carroll, will announce his college choice at 10 p.m. Tuesday on KARE-TV Ch. 11. Carroll, 6-6 and 295 pounds, has the Gophers, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin as his finalists. The son of former Gophers tight end Jay Carroll is the top-ranked player in Minnesota, the 87th-ranked player nationally and the 12th-ranked offensive lineman nationally in the 247Sports composite ratings.
