7 p.m. vs. Alabama A&M • Williams Arena • BTN (1130-AM, 103.5 FM)

This shouldn't be much of a fight

Preview: The No. 14 Gophers (4-0) finish their three-game homestand Tuesday before going to the Barclays Center Classic in New York at the end of the week. They have been tested only once so far, in an impressive victory at Providence. The past two home victories have been by a 27-point margin, but slow starts against Niagara and Western Carolina were a disturbing trend. In the first half, Minnesota trailed Niagara by 10 and led Western Carolina only by two points late. Alabama A&M (0-3) is coming off a 37-point loss to Alabama where it gave up 16 three-pointers. The Bulldogs are one of the worst teams in Division I basketball, having lost 30 of 32 games the past two years, including 13 straight to open the 2016-17 season.

Players to watch: Gophers F Jordan Murphy was named Big Ten player of the week Monday for the second week in a row. Murphy leads the Big Ten with 24.8 points and 12.8 rebounds per game. The 6-6 junior has 24 career double-doubles, including in 11 of his past 15 games dating to last season. Alabama A&M guard Arthur Johnson leads his team in scoring (14.7) and rebounds (6.3).

Numbers: The Bulldogs are ranked 350th of 351 Division I teams by advanced stats expert Ken Pomeroy. The Gophers are 29th.
