Alex Reigelsperger, a four-star defensive end from Wayne High School in Dayton, Ohio, announced Sunday night via Twitter that he has given a verbal commitment to the Gophers.

Reigelsperger, a 6-3, 247-pound senior, is the Gophers' first four-star recruit, as ranked by 247 Sports, for the Class of 2018. He had rescinded a verbal commitment to Kentucky last week and visited the Gophers on Saturday.

Reigelsperger is rated the nation's 26th-best defensive end for the Class of 2018 by Scout.com.
