Gophers land commitment from Tony Poljan, a 6-6, dual-threat quarterback from Michigan

Tony Poljan is a consensus three-star recruit who also had offers from Toledo, Buffalo, Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan.

The Gophers landed a commitment Thursday from Tony Poljan, a 6-6, dual-threat quarterback from Lansing (Mich.) Catholic High School.

Poljan is a consensus three-star recruit who also had reported offers from Toledo, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan.

Poljan completed 65.0 percent of his passes last year as a junior, throwing for 2,802 yards and 34 touchdowns, and rushing for 1,017 yards and 22 touchdowns. He helped lead Lansing Catholic to the Division 5 state finals. He was a first-team all-state selection and also an honorable mention all-state basketball player.
