COLLEGE PARK, MD. -- Tight end Brandon Lingen is expected to play Saturday, when the Gophers play Maryland at 11 a.m. (ESPNU).

Lingen, a junior co-captain, missed the previous three games with a broken clavicle, and that's a significant addition for Minnesota's offense.

Quarterback Mitch Leidner (concussion) did not make the trip. Offensive tackle Jonah Pirsig (ankle) and linebacker Cody Poock (shoulder) did make the trip but won't play.

It's a picturesque fall day here, which could help Maryland with attendance. The Terps went 3-9 last season, but enters this game feeling much better, at 4-1.

The big difference has been turnovers. The Terps ranked last in the Big Ten in turnover margin last year at minus-18, including a staggering 29 interceptions by their quarterbacks. This year, the Terps are plus-3, with two interceptions and two fumbles.

The Gophers are plus-2 this year, with two lost fumbles and four interceptions thrown. It's going to fall on backup QB Conor Rhoda's shoulders to take care of the ball today.

Update: Maryland's starting QB Perry Hills (shoulder) did not throw passes during warm-ups, so it appears freshman Tyrrell Pigrome will start for Maryland. He has played in each game this year.

Gophers DE Winston DeLattiboudere is wearing No. 46 today. He had been No. 88.

Gophers DE Tai'yon Devers (ankle) was moving around well in warm-ups, working with the 2's. LG Jared Weyler was working with the 1's.
