Gophers defensive end Alex Keith, a standout in the season opener until he hurt his knee, will miss Saturday's game against Middle Tennessee State. Coach Jerry Kill said the team hopes to have the junior back for the the TCU game Sept. 13.

The coach didn't specify what the injury is, but Keith appeared to hurt his left knee after recovering two fumbles against Eastern Illinois. Kill said that the team will be careful with Keith.

Kill also reiterated that wide receiver Drew Wolitarsky (shoulder), offensive tackle Ben Lauer (ankle) and defensive end Michael Amaefula (knee) are ready to return Saturday after missing the first game. Defensive tackle Yoshoub Timms (ankle) will be ready as well.

Linebacker Cody Poock, who tore an anterior cruciate ligament during spring practice, already is taking part in contact drills, Kill added.
