It took two days, but the first game at the new Siebert Field is in the history books.

The Gophers beat Ohio State 7-0 on Saturday at Siebert Field. They were ahead 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning Friday when the game was postponed by snow at 4:18 p.m. When it resumed at 1 p.m. the next day the Gophers (18-12, 3-1 Big Ten) added four more runs.

Winning pitcher Tom Windle held the Buckeyes (18-9, 4-3) to two hits in five innings, reliever Alec Crawford to one in four. Andy Henkemeyer had three hits for Minnesota, including the first of the game. Designated hitter Mark Tatera went 3-for-4, scored three runs and had an RBI.

The regular game Saturday was suspended by rain. It will resume at 10:30 a.m. Sunday with the Buckeyes ahead 5-1 after three innings.

U women gymnasts in NCAA meet

The Gophers finished second at the Gainesville, Fla., regional to advance to the NCAA women's gymnastics meet for the first time since 2002.

The Gophers' total was 197.100 after their 49.525 on the vault — the program's second-highest score ever in that event.

• Ellis Mannon placed second on the pommel horse (14.9) for the Gophers on the second day of the Big Ten men's gymnastics meet at the Sport Pavilion. Teammate Steve Jaciuk was third on the high bar (15.0).

Swarm score 21 goals

The Minnesota Swarm routed Buffalo 21-7 in lacrosse at the Xcel Energy Center, setting a franchise record for goals in a single game.

Eleven players scored for the Swarm (6-7), including Callum Crawford (two goals, eight assists for 10 points), Jordan MacIntosh (5-3-8) and Shayne Jackson (3-5-8).

• Sophomore guard Rachel Banham of the Gophers was an honorable mention pick on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association' All-America team.

• Senior catcher Kari Dorle's one-out, run-scoring double in the bottom of the seventh inning gave the Gophers a 2-1 victory over Wisconsin in Big Ten softball.

• The Gophers women's track and field team placed third in the Crimson Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Todea-Kay Willis won the long jump (20-2½), Paige Orcutt the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:43.82).
