Good deal on quality flatware

A 45-piece Dansk flatware set for $50. That's better than eBay.

I don't shop Brand Name Deals in Fridley as often as I used to when they had a great selection of flat panel TVs and laptops. They still get in TVs and computers but not as often as they used to. It's still worth a visit if you're in the area on a Wednesday through Sunday. The store is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

BND is a surplus outlet that gets returns from wholesale clubs and discounters. Prices are usually about 70 percent lower than retail. the store has clothes, electronics, automotive, hardware, small appliances, home furnishings, food and toys. I think the kitchen furnishings, including this Dansk set, is one of the better departments.

Here's a deal that got my attention this week: Dansk 45-piece stainless flatware for 8 for $50, regularly $150. I couldn't find any sets online for less than $60. Target.com sells some sets for $60 and a few for less, but the weight isn't as heavy and they're not Dansk.
