The Sixth District congressional race is starting to look a bit like a Time Life infomercial.

Jon Bauman, aka "Bowser" of the Doo-Wop group Sha Na Na, has been spotted mingling with Tarryl Clark supporters at several recent events, posing with fans while making his signature facial expression (above).

"I think she's the most outstanding [non-incumbent] candidate that the Democratic Party has running in the entire country," Bauman told Hot Dish at yesterday's rally. Some may remember him from the film Grease.

He's teaming up with Minnesota resident Bobby Vee (of "Take Good Care of My Baby" fame) for a Clark fundraiser tonight in Avon. As Clark spokester Carrie Lucking notes, "Bobby Vee has never been politically involved in a campaign until now."

But Bachmann is bringing out her own big guns from yesteryear.

Pat Boone, the R&B pop powerhouse of the 1950s, recently penned a letter in support of Michele Bachmann that was sent to Bachmann supporters. Boone has weighed in on several races this year.

"You may remember me from some of my hit songs, Love Letters in the Sand, April Love, Ain't That a Shame, and many others," Boone wrote. "Yes I'm still performing at concerts but today I'm singing the praises of Michele Bachman."

As Bachmann spokester Sergio Gor notes, Elvis once opened for the 76-year-old star.

The question remains: Who will get the nod from Dion?
