Want to produce more of your own food? Or just live a more sustainable lifestyle? Visit "MN Goes Green," a free event Sunday offering ways to incorporate simple, practical solutions into your daily life.

Learning sessions will focus on back-yard chicken basics, edible landscaping and composting, along with other resources for a more sustainable lifestyle.

MN Goes Green will be held 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Union Depot, 214 E. 4th St., St. Paul.

Gertens is hosting a free seminar, "DIY Outdoor Kitchen," at 10 a.m. Saturday. Learn tips and tricks for planning and installing your kitchen, and see materials that you can use to customize your project. Gertens is at 5500 Blaine Av., Inver Grove Heights.

Pond tour

If a pond, waterfall or other water feature is on your wish list, check out several examples at the Twin Cities Pond and Landscape Tour this weekend, showcasing the work of Certified Aquascape Contractors.

You can visit tour sites by night, 9 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, or by day, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
