As part of her campaign push before the Ames Iowa presidential straw poll, Republican Michele Bachmann released a list of 102 Iowa pastors offering their support.

"Many of the evangelical leaders offered support after hearing her testimony and witnessing how her faith guides her strong leadership on critical issues such as marriage, life, and the overbearing impact of government policies on the family," Bachmann's campaign said in a release. "Bachmann is especially grateful for the endorsements from pastors and faith leaders in advance of the 2011 Iowa Straw Poll on August 13."

In the release, Bachmann reiterated her promise to "take the values of Iowans to the White House."

The Minnesota congresswoman's Christian faith has often and openly been tied to her political activism.

In June, she told Iowa Public Television that: "every decision that I make I pray about as does my husband and I can tell you, yes, I've had that calling" to run for president.

The prominence that faith holds in her life may be helpful to Bachmann as she appeals to socially conservative, Christian Republicans, who have a strong presence among Iowa Republican activists.

Here's the list of pastors and leaders who endorsed Bachmann.

Bachmann's campaign makes clear: "This represents the support of private citizens and is not the endorsement of the churches or the organizations that these individuals represent."
