Hey, I thought men enjoyed seeing two women kiss?

A Target Field security guard, who admonished a Minneapolis lesbian couple for sharing a smooch at the ball park in May, has been reprimanded by the Twins, according to a story first reported by City Pages.

"When I kissed my girlfriend and went to the [restroom] the security guard approached Taylor Campione, my girlfriend, shaking his head and saying, We don't do that here. There's no grab ass in the stadium," Kelsi Culpepper told me Thursday.

Oh dear, somebody doesn't know the different between lips and hands.

Culpepper said that Campione "was so dumbfounded she didn't say or do anything. She just stood there and stared at him. Once I got back and she told me what happened, I was like, 'No-no-no.' I walked up to him and asked him what gives him the right to say that to her? 'I have any right, just like you, to kiss my partner.' "

Culpepper said the guard again made the grab ass comparison and added, according to Culpepper, this beauty: In this stadium, we adhere to the 10 Commandments.

If this security guard would like a list of Twins employees who have not been overly 10 Commandmenty, I've got names.

Culpepper asked to speak to his superior.

She said that she contacted City Pages, Lavender magazine, filed a formal complaint with the Human Rights Campaign and e-mailed the Twins. "The only people we e-mailed who have gotten back to us are HRC and City Pages," said Culpepper.

Twins spokesman Kevin Smith has not returned my Thursday call, but he told City Pages the guard has been given a verbal and written reprimand that was added to his personnel file. Smith told City Pages that the guard has worked for the team for almost a decade and has an otherwise "exemplary record" but now understands this behavior was not acceptable.

In additional to seeking a comment regarding Culpepper and Campione's upsetting Twins experience, I asked Smith whether one of my editors had correctly recalled seeing women kiss on the Target Field's Kiss Cam? I also asked whether the security guard had been given sensitivity-diversity training as a result of this incident.

A controversy breaking just in time for the weeklong Minneapolis Gay Pride celebration that begins Friday? "I know, right," laughed Culpepper.
