A truck pulling a horse trailer went out of control Sunday afternoon in Belle Plaine, rolling over in a ditch and killing an 8-year-old passenger.
Laura Maloney of Pine City, Minn., died in the accident on Hwy. 169 at Blakeley Trail.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that the truck was northbound behind a car that slowed down. The truck rear-ended the car and rolled into the ditch. The horse trailer landed on top of the truck.
Walter Grewe, 62, of Brooklyn Park, was driving the truck and was injured. His daughter, Erin Maloney, 35, of Pine City, was also a passenger in the truck and was injured. The state patrol late Sunday said Laura Maloney was related to Grewe.
