Ginn Jr. re-signs with the 49ers

Receiver-return man visited the Vikings earlier this week.

Stand down, Vikings fans.

Ted Ginn Jr. isn't joining the Vikings. The 49ers have announced that the receiver-returner has re-signed with the team. He gets a one-year deal two days after visiting the Vikings.

Ginn definitely wouldn't have solved the Vikings' need for a No. 1 receiver. He would have come in and been primarily a kick returner. That would have given the Vikings a premier kickoff returner, which would have lessened the need to risk Percy Harvin's health on kick returns.

Obviously, the 49ers learned from the NFC Championship Game just how valuable Ginn was as a returner when he wasn't there to return punts.
