General Mills Inc. will close two more plants, one in the United Kingdom and another in New Zealand.

These are the latest moves in a yearlong corporate restructuring.

The company announced Thursday that it plans to shut a refrigerated dough and baking mix plant in Berwick, England, which employs 265 people. Also slated for closing is a plant in New Zealand that makes pasta, sauces and soup products. That shutdown would lead to 20 layoffs. General Mills has operated the two plants since the early 2000s.

Golden Valley-based General Mills has laid off over 2,500 workers globally in the past year or so, as it cuts costs to cope with stagnant packaged food sales.

In June, it announced it would eliminate up to 725 white collar jobs that are chiefly in its international division. It has also cut up to 800 white-collar jobs in the U.S., many of them at its Golden Valley headquarters. And it has announced the closure of six U.S. factories, including large cereal plants in Chicago and Lodi, Calif.
