FRIDAY

Record Store Day

If you'd rather use Black Friday to stock up on rare vinyl than discounted electronics, Record Store Day is for you. Local events include an in-store performance of the Twin Cities Funk and Soul All-Stars at the Electric Fetus (2000 4th Av. S., Mpls.), plus 20 percent off storewide. Fifth Element (2411 Hennepin Av. SUNDAY

Gastro Non Grata

If you think you couldn't be more stuffed after Thanksgiving, foodie fest Gastro Non Grata is back for another round. Aptly titled "Post-Thanksgiving Belt Punch Extravaganza," the bash features a heavy-hitting lineup of Steven Brown of Tilia fame and Red Wagon Pizza Company's Peter Campbell (no, not the "Mad Men" character). Wallow in the sheer gluttony of Brown's and Campbell's delectable dishes along with Belgian brews from Artisanal Imports, Dead Meat Door Prizes courtesy of Clancey's Meat and Fish and music from L'Assassins, Drew Peterson and the Dead Pigeons, Crankshaft and DJ Shannon Blowtorch. Hey, it sure beats Grandma's stuffing. (7 p.m. Sun. $10-$13. Triple Rock Social Club, 629 Cedar Av. S., Mpls. gastronongrata.blogspot.com.) J.P.

Macy's SantaLand & Holiday Display

Macy's celebrates the 50th anniversary of its annual holiday display, having picked up the tradition from Marshall Field's and Dayton's before it. For the fifth year running, it's bringing back the "Day in the Life of an Elf" story line, which brings the audience on a trip through Santa's workshop, the story coming to life with whirling, whimsical figures and sparkling backdrops. The tradition continues with its corresponding SantaLand, where the kids can sit on Santa's lap, plus a bakery and the "Moose Crossing" puppet show, a new addition to the festivities last year. (Daily through Dec. 31 during store hours. Free. Macy's, 700 Nicollet Mall, Mpls. 612-375-5020.) J.P.
