wolves gameday

8 P.M. AT PHOENIX • FSN, 830-aM

Preview: The Timberwolves ended their 15-game losing streak with Tuesday's 110-101 victory at Indiana. It took G Mo Williams' career-high and franchise-record 52 points to get them their first victory since Dec. 10 against Portland. … The Suns (23-18) currently own the eighth playoff spot in the West, a position that eluded them last year. They ended a two-game losing streak with Tuesday's 107-100 home victory over Cleveland, their fifth victory in seven games. They are 10-7 at home. … Phoenix won the season's first meeting between the teams, 113-111 last week at Target Center. The Suns trailed by seven points after three quarters, but former Wolves F Gerald Green scored 15 points in the fourth quarter's first five minutes to lead them back. The Suns have won 14 of the past 19 games between the teams.

Players to watch: Suns F Markieff Morris scored a career-high 35 points in Tuesday's matchup primarily with Cavaliers F Kevin Love and is averaging 19 points on 48.1 percent shooting and 6.8 rebounds in his last five games. Morris went 15-for-21 from the field on Tuesday, becoming the first Suns player since Shaquille O'Neal to make 15 field goals in a game while shooting at least 70 percent. … Suns G Eric Bledsoe is averaging 17.9 points, 6.1 assists, 5.9 rebounds and 1.9 steals and his team is 11-4 over the last 15 games. He has two triple-doubles this season, too.

Injuries: The Wolves list both G Kevin Martin (wrist) and C Nikola Pekovic (ankle) as doubtful, but Martin is most likely of the two to return by Friday. G Ricky Rubio (ankle) and F Shabazz Muhammad (oblique) are out. The Suns report no injuries.
