Preview: Beset by injuries, the Pelicans started the season 18-32 after they reached the playoffs on the final day of the regular season last spring. But they've won three of their past four games and five of seven since beating the Wolves 116-102 nearly three weeks ago. They beat Oklahoma City 123-119 at home on Thursday. …The Pelicans won the season's first two meetings, beating the Wolves in New Orleans on Jan. 19 and then winning at Target Center on Feb. 8.

Players to watch: The Pelicans are bringing two of their better players — point guard Jrue Holiday and power forward Ryan Anderson — off the bench. Holiday has scored at least 20 points in his past seven games and is averaging 22.4 points since that Feb. 8 victory at Target Center. … Pelicans forward Anthony Davis ranks eighth in the NBA in points and rebounds and third in blocked shots. He's the only NBA player averaging at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots a game. … Former Timberwolf Dante Cunningham is starting at small forward for New Orleans.

Injuries: Wolves F Nemanja Bjelica (foot strain), F Kevin Garnett (sore knee) and C Nikola Pekovic (sore ankle) are out. Pelicans F Quincy Pondexter (knee), G Tyreke Evans (knee), G Bryce Dejean-Jones (wrist) and C Omer Asik (ankle sprain) are out, but G Eric Gordon is expected to return from a broken finger.
