wolves gameday

6 p.m. at Brooklyn • Barclays Center • FSN, 830-AM

Preview: Remember that Nets team the Wolves clobbered back in November? The one that was 3-9 after losing 111-81 at Target Center that night? Well, those Nets are no longer around, even though Kevin Garnett, Brook Lopez and Andrei Kirilenko all will remain out for Sunday's game. The Nets have won their past 12 games at Barclays Center, and a victory Sunday would tie the franchise's longest home winning streak (13, games, set twice in 2002) and tie a franchise record for most March victories with 12 (done in 2006). They're 38-33 after beating Cleveland 108-97 at home Friday, and their 28-12 record in 2014 is the best record in the East since New Year's Day and fifth best in the NBA, behind San Antonio, Houston, the L.A. Clippers and Memphis. …The Nets played without Lopez, Kirilenko, Deron Williams and Jason Terry the first time around in November. This time, Williams will play, Garnett, Lopez and Kirilenko won't face the Wolves again, and Terry has since been traded.

Players to watch: Nets veteran forward Paul Pierce scored 17 of his 22 points in the first seven minutes of Friday's victory over Cleveland. He made all four three-point shots he attempted and all five free throws in that time and finished 5-for-6 shooting, all of them three-pointers. It was the fifth time this season he made five or more threes in a game. He had done so only twice in his previous three seasons with Boston. …Williams has scored 20 or more points eight times since the All-Star break after doing so five times before it and has the longest active steals streak in the league, with at least one recorded in his past 21 games. He has led the team in points, assists, steals, minutes played and free throws made and attempts since the All-Star break.

Did you know? Kirilenko, signed by the Nets last summer after he opted out of his $10 million deal with the Wolves this season, has missed 34 games because of back spasms, calf and ankle injuries.

Injuries: Wolves C Ronny Turiaf (knee bone bruise) is out. Garnett (back spasms), Kirilenko (sprained ankle) and Lopez (fractured foot) all are out for the Nets.
