minnesota united fc gameday

7 p.m. vs. New York • NSC Stadium, Blaine

Watch: Live broadcast available online at MNUnitedFC.com.

Preview: The rebooted New York Cosmos franchise returns to Minnesota for the first time in 32 years. The Cosmos lead the North American Soccer League's fall season standings with 18 points. United is one of three teams deadlocked in second place with 14 points. United players are calling the meeting a "six-point" match in the race to catch the Cosmos. A victory, worth three points in the standings, would put United within one point of the Cosmos, a loss by the home team would create a seven-point spread.

United FC at a glance: Last week's 1-0 victory over San Antonio was United's first at the National Sports Center in five tries. It marked United's first shutout since April, the same month Minnesota last won two consecutive NASL games.

New York at a glance: Trailing 3-1 at halftime last week, the Cosmos roared back to score three times in a rousing 4-3 victory against Tampa Bay. New York's third consecutive victory allowed the Cosmos to maintain sole possession of first place and handed Tampa Bay its first defeat of the fall season.
