Gameday preview: Lynx at Indiana

September 16, 2016 at 4:47AM

Preview: The Lynx (26-6) play their fourth consecutive road game before returning home for their regular-season finale on Saturday. The Lynx had a five-game winning streak end on Tuesday in a 98-97 loss to Chicago in overtime. Indiana (16-16), which has clinched a playoff spot, is coming off an 89-87 loss at Connecticut on Tuesday. The Lynx have won 11 consecutive regular-season games against Indiana. The Lynx defeated the Fever 3-2 in the WNBA Finals last season.

Players to watch: Lynx F Maya Moore scored 27 points against Chicago on Tuesday. She is fourth in the league in scoring (19.4). She made three three-pointers to give her 400 for her career. Lynx G Seimone Augustus is shooting 51.9 percent (68 of 131) in her last 12 starts. Indiana F Tamika Catchings, retiring at the end of the season, needs three rebounds to break Lisa Leslie's WNBA career record of 3,007. G Shenise Johnson scored a career-high 23 (in 25 minutes) on Tuesday.

Numbers: Minnesota's loss on Tuesday prevented a chance of equaling the best single-season victory total in league history. Phoenix went 29-5 in 2014. With wins in their final two games, the Lynx would set a team record for victories in a season and match the second-best total in league history.

Injuries: Fever F Eriana Larkins (foot), who did not play Tuesday, is questionable.
